Have you ever been to E.P. Taylor’s on your birthday and wondered why you are paying full price for a meal? Well, wonder no more because the pub is giving back to students celebrating that special day.
E.P.’s is now offering 10 percent off of your food order as well as giving you a special gift while quantities last. The gift depends on the day and could be anything from a birthday cake to concert tickets. The promotion started two weeks ago and has been such a hit with students, that management is thinking they may have to top themselves next year.
“We may take a higher percentage off,” said Manager of Food, Beverage and Hospitality Services, Michael Farrington. He said the idea for the promotion came about last year when students were asking, “why can’t we get any deals? It’s our birthday.”
The deal excludes alcohol, for obvious reasons and there are enough specials on beers and mixed drinks throughout the week. This is not the first deal of its kind. On Valentine’s Day, the pub gave away coupons for half-price appetizers and also did a bit of advertising of its own on the second side of the coupons, regarding upcoming promotions at E.P. Taylor’s.
Harrington hopes that the promotion will be a success and run next year.
“It will be running for the rest of the year,” said Harrington. “We’ll see where it goes.”
Below is a video featuring Durham College students: Josh Boyer, Travis McDermott and Caitlyn Anderson giving their opinions on E.P. Taylor’s new deal.
