Reading Week is a time for studying and catching up on assignments, but it’s also a time when students party.
For some students Reading Week means staying on campus but with the E.P. Taylor’s closed during the break where can students go for a pint to relieve some stress?
Also, some students live in Durham Region and come to the college to visit friends who are living here or staying over the break. If they want to go out for a beer they have to take their business some place else. This could mean taking a bus down to the Crooked Uncle or even farther.
Reading Week may be a time for rest but that’s no reason to be lazy when it comes to exercise. DC News reporter Nathan MacKinnon shows how to stay active on and off campus next week.

As Durham College students impatiently count down the days until Reading Week next week, one thing to keep in mind are the hours of operation for services on campus. Another thing to remember is that on Monday, February 21st, everything on campus will be closed due to Family Day.
Listed below is a list hours of operations for services on campus from Tuesday, February 22nd to Friday, February 25th.
The Student Centre: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Student Association’s office: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
E.P. Taylor’s Pub & Restaurant: Closed all week, with only the cafeteria being open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Information Centre & Tuck Shop: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Artist Den: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Student Services Building: Feb. 22-24 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Feb.25 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Women’s Centre: Closed all week.
The Food Centre: Closed all week.
The LGBTQ Centre: Closed all week.
Legal Services: Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m, with an appointment required. To book an appointment, email Your SA at sa@dc-uoit.ca.
The Health Centre: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Flex Centre: 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The Campus Bookstore: Feb. 22-24 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Feb. 25th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Computer Commons/IT Service Desk: Feb. 22-24 from 7:30 a.m. – 11 pm, Feb. 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Equipment Sign Out and Colour Printing room: Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 pm, Feb. 23 from 9 am to 5 pm, Feb. 24 from 9 am to 4 pm, Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Regular hours for services on campus start February 28, 2011.
