The sale extends to a variety of non-course specific clothing.

Forget about the hoops.  Durham College is being taken over by a different kind of March Madness.

The campus bookstore is holding a special March madness sale starting March 5th and running all month long, offering discounts on many of the items available at the location.

Duniece Camplin, who is in charge of bookstore operations, says the event is a worthwhile promotion for students.

“It’s a good deal. It’s 50 per cent off so the savings are substantial.”

The sale is exclusive to Durham College and UOIT branded fashions with merchandise such as sweaters, hoodies and pants eligible for the “buy one, get one 50 per cent off” promotion. The only clothes not part of the deal are program specific sweaters with course names printed on the back.

The sale couldn’t have come at a better time as many programs are coming to an end and, as students get ready to graduate and leave the campus behind, clothing from the bookstore could be the perfect memento of the years of hard work and dedication in the post-secondary education system.

Camplin agrees saying the timing of the sale had everything to do with the winter semester coming to an end.

“It’s the end of the season for most of the stuff [on sale],” said Camplin. “It’s all heavier clothing from the fall and winter and students are going to be gone in April because they’re writing exams so now is the perfect time to capture that market.”

Anyone interested in the discount event should act fast as the sale ends March 30th so walk around with your Durham College and UOIT gear and wear it with pride.

The promotion runs from March 5th to March 30th.
